ABOUT

TheatreStorm is an offshoot of the blog “Storming Bohemia” founded by Charles Kruger in June of 2010.

At that time, Charles had lost his job as a high school English teacher and began to reevaluate his life. After some careful consideration, he delayed returning to work as a teacher and instead devoted time to the “storming bohemia” project. This project consisted of a commitment to attend 90 literary events in 90 days, and document the experience in a blog: stormingbohemia.com. His goal was to reinvent himself artistically and see if he could rediscover an artist’s identity which had gone somewhat fallow for a number of years.

The project succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. As “the storming bohemian”, Charles has become a well-known figure in the San Francisco literary community. His blog attracted enough attention to warrant a mention in the New York Times. His experience reignited his writing life, and he began to appear regularly as a performing poet in reading series throughout the Bay area and publishing in local literary magazines. He has become a staff writer for the reknowned litseen.com, rekindled his love for theatre and established a reputation as a theatre reviewer (the Bay Area Theatre Examiner) at examiner.com and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the reading series Quiet Lightning, one of the most respected on the west coast, which publishes the periodical sPARKLE + bLINK. Charles is a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle.

Charles has recently begun creating offshoots of the original storming bohemia blog, to expand on his mission of providing valuable information for conscious bohemians—those who subscribe to the motto @Rt 4 LiFe’S sAkE.
